فتتح رئيس جامعة الحسين بن طلال الدكتور نجيب ابو كركي اليوم اعمال المؤتمر العالمي "انظمة الكمبيوتر وتطبيقاتها " بنسخته الخامسة عشر وبمشاركة (150) باحث متخصص من (40) دولة حول العالم في قاعة ضانا/ فندق انتركونتيننتال العقبة، والذي يقام بالتعاون مع المعهد الهندسي للكهرباء والإلكترونيات و جامعة الحسين بن طلال.

 ورحب الدكتور أبو كركي في كلمته بالحضور مؤكذا على أهمية مثل هذه المؤتمرات والتي تعنى بآخر ما توصلت إليه نظم الحاسبات وتطبيقاتها، كما تحدث عن تجربة جامعة الحسين بن طلال، في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات واستخدام أحدث ما توصل له العلم في هذا المجال، ومن خلال استخدام أدوات التواصل الاجتماعي في إيصال رسالة الجامعة التنموية

 من جهته بين الدكتور مضر موسى المعاني رئيس المؤتمر، المحاور التي سيتم بحثها في المؤتمر وهي : الذكاء الاصطناعي، والشبكات، ونظم المعلومات وقواعد البيانات، وأمن نظم المعلومات، ومعالجة الصور، وهندسة البرمجيات، والحوسبة السحابية بمشاركة مختصون مشهورون في هذه المجالات ، كما يستضيف المؤتمر مسؤولين من شركات كبرى مثل اوركل/الشرق الاوسط، بيوتك، شبكة الجامعات الأردنية

 ويعتبر المؤتمر واحداً من الفرص الدولية الرئيسية لتقديم أنشطة البحث والتطوير متعددة التخصصات والذي  يستمر لمدة 5 ايام وبمشاركة (40) دولة  ، ويضم تجمّع لطلبة الدكتوراه لمناقشة أهم مواضيع البحث العلمي، بالإضافة الى مختصين في مجالان مصرفية وعلمية متقدمة للتحدث عن أهم مجالات البحث العلمي.

طلبة نيوز- في اطار سعيها الدؤوب لتوفير جميع متطلبات النجاح لأنظمة الجامعات الحكومية المحوسبة وقعت شبكة الجامعات الأردنية وشركة مايكروسوفت الأردن اتفاقية تقوم من خلالها شركة مايكروسوفت بتقديم الدعم الفني للجامعات الحكومية لحل أية مشاكل فنية تطرأ على تطبيقات الحوسبة المختلفة في الجامعات والتي تستخدم برمجيات مايكروسوفت

وقد وقع الاتفاقية عن شبكة الجامعات الأستاذ الدكتور كمال الدين بني هاني رئيس هيئة المديرين ورئيس الجامعة الهاشمية فيما وقعها عن شركة مايكروسوفت الأردن مديرها العام السيد حسين ملحس بحضور مدير مركز تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات في الجامعة الهاشمية الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد الخصاونة والمدير التنفيذي لشبكة الجامعات الاستاذ الدكتور صالح الشرايعة.
وقد أثنى رئيس هيئة المديرين لشبكة الجامعات الاردنية على كافة الجهود المبذولة من جميع الأطراف وأبدى إعجابه الشديد بالتعاون اللامحدود الذي تبديه شركة مايكروسوفت في هذا المجال، وفي هذا السياق شدد بني هاني على ضرورة استمرار هذا التعاون ليتلاءم ويتواءم مع نية شبكة الجامعات ضم الجامعات الخاصة الى شبكتها.
كما تحدث السيد ملحس عن اهمية دعم الجامعات الاردنية ، كما تحدث المدير التنفيذي لشبكة الجامعات الأستاذ الدكتور صالح الشرايعة وأكد أن علاقة شبكة الجامعات مع شركة مايكروسوفت تمثل قصة نجاح أنتجت شراكة حقيقية بينهما تجذرت عبر السنوات الماضية وسوف تبذل شبكة الجامعات جهدها لتصب هذه الشراكة في مصلحة الجامعات الأعضاء في الشبكة.

The General Authority of the Jordanian Universities Network at the University of Jordan recently met to elect a board of directors for the network for the next three years. The President of the Hashemite University Dr. Kamal Al-Din Bani Hani won the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors, the President of Al-Bayt University Dr. Ziauddin Irfa as Vice-Chairman of the Board, and the President of Mu'tah University Dr. Dhafer Al-Sarayrah as a member of the Board. The Director of the Information Technology Center, Dr. Saleh Al-Sharayeh, explained that the General Authority of the network which comprises of the heads of government universities (Jordan, Yarmouk, Mu'tah, Science and Technology, Al Al-Bayt, Hashemite, Balqa , Hussein Bin Talal, Tafileh Tech and German Jordanian university), is conducting International and local agreements and boost collaboration to further support the progress of the higher education and scientific research, and it also provides all the means of communication systems, and services required for the continuity of the educational process, and that is in addition to the Internet and connectivity to the networks of research and education in the world. Furthermore, Dr.Saleh Al-Sharayeh clarified, that the network provides various software licensing services to the higher education sector, and recently signed an agreement aims at providing an integrated connection portal for researchers in Jordanian universities.​

Umniah has announced that it has won the JUNet tender, of providing the government Jordanian universities with Internet and MPLS services. JUNET and Umniah have signed an agreement to provide 33 academic institution with integrated business solutions of Internet, MPLS, fixed line services and Anti DDOS, which will enable all local universities to communicate with their joint offices securely and reliably. The project within a record period of no more than one month, has been perfectly accomplished, and thus Umniah has strengthened its strategic partnership in the education sector in Jordan, which is in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II's vision to support the higher education sector and improve its services. JUNET Chairman Dr. Ali Al Qaisi expressed his happiness with Umniah's winning of this tender. And proclaimed "Umniah enjoys a good reputation not only locally but also regionally, in addition to its extensive expertise in this type of service". Prof Dr.Al-Qaisi pointed out, that through this project, all Jordanian universities will be connected within one single network at different speeds, reaching up to 10 GB/s in some locations, it was indicated that, this service from Umniah will complement the different objectives of the Jordanian Universities Network, which mainly seeks to promote higher education in the Hashemite Kingdom Jordan, and to make ease of access to information available when required for both faculty members And university students, by employing the latest technology tools and technologies.​

His Excellency, Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazleh, Founder of Talal Abu Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and Chairman of the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN) with His Excellency, Prof. Ali al-Qaisi, Chairman of the Jordanian Universities Network (JuNet) and Mr. Sami Smeirat, Chief Enterprise Officer of Orange Jordan have signed an agreement to connect Jordanian universities with the European Academic and Research Network (GÉANT) in order to provide them access to the research and education resources in Europe and the rest of the world.Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of ASREN highlighted the importance of connecting research and education institutions at the national, regional and global levels to enable collaboration with research and education communities and to provide access to research and education resources.Prof. Ali Al-Qaisy, Chairman of JUNet said: “connecting the Jordanian universities is a new support to the researchers in Jordan as they used to face many difficulties in the past when they try to access computing resources, data repositories and scientific applications and services”​. Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazleh, Founder of Talal Abu Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and Chairman of the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN) with His Excellency, Prof. Ali al-Qaisi, Chairman of the Jordanian Universities Network (JuNet), Prof. Saleh Al-Sharayah, Executive Director of Jordanian Universities Network (JuNet) and Mr. Sami Smeirat, Chief Enterprise Officer of Orange Jordan were at the the signing.

The General Authority of the Jordanian Universities Network held its extraordinary meeting under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Nabil Shawakfa and the attendance of the Executive Director Dr. Farouk Al Omari in the liaison office of Al-Bayt University. During the meeting, the minutes of the previous general assembly meeting, discussion and approval of the annual budget of the network for 2013 and 2014 and the election of an auditor were approved. The participants discussed the procedures required to correct some issues with the “Ministry of Industry and Trade” and work to provide the necessary financial liquidity to continue JUNet’s march of success and to further benefit JUNet members. Dr. Al-Shawakfa reviewed the network achievements and the plan implemented to provide the required services, software and computer programs for all Jordanian universities. Also, emphasis the keenness of the Jordanian universities to communicate with the plans and projects of the network to contribute for the development of computer and electronic field and provide modern Internet service to the member universities in the network.​

 ​JUNet awarded the Public Universities of Jordan’s Microsoft software licensing purchase program to Farah Trading & Contracting Company (FTC). FTC is one of Microsoft distributor and considered top in the region. The company focuses on presenting licensing pricing at competitive rate with distinguished value-added services. The award came after JUNet issued an RFP to the license agreement it manages for its member universities with Microsoft.​

​JUNet in partnership with Microsoft delivered on a technology briefing to the Microsoft Agreement member universities. The event was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel In Amman and covered the features of benefits to the latest software releases by Microsoft. Products such as Windows Server 2012 R2, SharePoint Server™ 2013, Exchange Server® 2013 and Lync® were covered. Also Cloud topics and services such as Office365™ and Windows Azure™ including StorSimple™ and CommVault™ were discussed at an architectural level to better ready the member universities in their choice of design and technologies for their infrastructure and application solutions for the years to come. ​

​JUNet signed an Education Alliance Agreement (EAA) with Microsoft Corporation that aims to activate a number of strategic programs such as Office365™ for Education over the next three years. Office365 provides a set of to enable university students to use with their educators during their participation in classes and homework. The platform provides access to E-mail, Video / Audio conferencing and private portal for document repositories. The agreement was signed by JUNet Executive Director, Dr. Farouk El Omari and Mr. Hussein Malhas, Country Manager of the Microsoft Jordan.​

​The University of Islamic International Sciences (ISU) signed a cooperation agreement with Jordan University Network on Thursday to link official Jordanian universities to the Internet to provide Internet access to the university for non-commercial uses. The agreement was signed by "Dr.Abdel Nasser Abu Albasal", ISU president, and the Chairman of the JUNet Board of Directors "Dr.Abdul Rahim Al-Hunaiti". Under the agreement, the latest technology of the University of Islamic Science in the Internet will be provided, so that faculty members, students and university employees can use the Internet efficiently, especially that the university capacity is 30 Mbps. The university president said that this agreement constitutes a qualitative transfer in the Internet service, more than five times the current capacity, which in turn reflects positively on the quality of academic services, e-learning and computer services provided by the university to employees and students alike. Likewise, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordanian Universities Network said that all the 11 official universities in Jordan have been linked to this system, which will open channels between these universities and benefit from libraries, programs, centers of excellence and all educational and administrative services provided by universities.​

​The Civil Service Bureau asked the Jordanian Universities Network on Wednesday, to link the Central Examination System with the university networks in preparation for implementing electronic exams in university laboratories.

The aim of the linkage is to enable applicants to submit competitive examinations in the governorates and not to limit them to the Amman.
