Umniah has announced that it has won the JUNet tender, of providing the government Jordanian universities with Internet and MPLS services. JUNET and Umniah have signed an agreement to provide 33 academic institution with integrated business solutions of Internet, MPLS, fixed line services and Anti DDOS, which will enable all local universities to communicate with their joint offices securely and reliably. The project within a record period of no more than one month, has been perfectly accomplished, and thus Umniah has strengthened its strategic partnership in the education sector in Jordan, which is in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision to support the higher education sector and improve its services. JUNET Chairman Dr. Ali Al Qaisi expressed his happiness with Umniah’s winning of this tender. And proclaimed “Umniah enjoys a good reputation not only locally but also regionally, in addition to its extensive expertise in this type of service”. Prof Dr.Al-Qaisi pointed out, that through this project, all Jordanian universities will be connected within one single network at different speeds, reaching up to 10 GB/s in some locations, it was indicated that, this service from Umniah will complement the different objectives of the Jordanian Universities Network, which mainly seeks to promote higher education in the Hashemite Kingdom Jordan, and to make ease of access to information available when required for both faculty members And university students, by employing the latest technology tools and technologies.
